In a 24 hour day there are 8 Watch hours, these same hours are the Prayer Hours. These same hours are hours that cause people to unwarily fall into temptation to their harm (backslide).

Having a Hard Time working with the Mystery ?
Rev 3:1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Comment: Notice that I did not highlight "have not found thy works perfect before GOD. I am directing the verse to those at the very minimum consider themselves to be Christians and have no interest in wanting to be perfect with GOD, and just want to go their own way of life. That's find…. When it dawns on you that you are getting up there in age. The mind and body will not hold fast to the vitality that it has. The Vitality will eventually drain away from all living during those Unwatched "Watch Hours" that have always existed. With effort during the Watch Hour/s you can keep up your vitality. That is what the Lord is telling those of Sardis.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Comment: At the Watch Hour: There is so much good that can be received/accompliced… through Prayer: receive Mercy, receive answers to troublesome problems. Repentance. Miracles have always happened during the Watch/Prayer Hour without persons knowing about it. The Scriptures in the Old and New Testament give testimonies of Miracles. Moses parted the Red Sea at the Sun Rise Watch Hour as he Prayed for it to Happen.
Keep in mind Rev 3:3 is to those of Sardis who were in advance stages of making efforts to be Saints.. GOD's Mercy is to those that started a relationship with the Son of GOD, the Lord Jesus Christ. who sincerely petition him for his Mercy.
Pastor John MacArthur's message is from
the Lord Jesus Christ's New testament
Luke 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting>(overindulge) , and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Luke 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Comment : Lk 21:35: As a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the world. The reason for the increase tempo of the ensnarement is because of verse Rev 3:10 : the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Comment: I will add another verse to the Lord's Word of Patience.
Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Comment: Any where/time you need patience, remember this verse of the Lord Jesus Christ.(3 by 5 card).

If you are into the Lord Jesus Christ, you can actually feel the spirit of patience come over you, when you need that patience. Because the Lord's Words are Spirit and life.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth(make alive); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Comment: It is so important to have time to read, hear/audio the Lord's Words of his New Testament. By doing so, you will be kept from overwhelming temptation that will overwhelm those on the surface of the earth. (Rev 3:10)
