Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Luke 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

Luke 22:34  And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

Luke 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Comment: When Jesus sent them out, they went out in the power of the Holy Spirit, The Holy Spirit even protected them from Harm.

I don't mean any disrespect to those in these modern days that consider themselves to be "Saints" and believe themselves to be protected by the Holy Ghost, but, do you remember when a "Pope" was gunned down and almost lost his life.

Luke 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Comment: Now that Jesus was to be taken away from them, he wanted them to arm themselves with swords to defend against thieves, and predators of their times, and them that hated Christians in their travels to spread the Gospels.

2Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Comment: Paul trained Timothy to be a Soldier of Jesus Christ and to pass the training knowledge on to other to continue the Training.

2Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Phl 2:25  Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

Comment: fellowsoldier does not mean companion in the work of the Gospel

Philemon 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,

Comment: I'll comment on Paul being in bondage of the Flesh, not being in a jail.

Philemon 1:2  And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:

Comment: For those Theologians: fellowsoldier does not mean fellow comrade, or fellow companion in the work of the Gospels. A fellow companion in the church was called a brother, a highly esteemed brother was most likely called a beloved brother.

NoBody is Arming, to go to A Christian Soldier Boot Camp                  In the not to far future, i expect to see Christian Soldier Boot Camps.
To fully equip the Man/Young man of the Creator GOD with GODLY Confidence.

It happened in the Apostle Pauls time,

A Perfect Man was not complete, without being a Man of Uncommon Endurance, according to the Apostle Paul.

Again, the Verses in in which Jesus tells them to ARM Themselves, below.

Luke 22:37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Question for the Bible Thumpers who say The early Christians, led by Paul the Apostle, did not train to be Soldiers of Christ.....

Why would the Lord Jesus tell his disciples to arm themselves and not train to Excel against those that want to harm the Saints of their Christian Communities ?

It's apparent, that the details of and why becoming a fellowsoldier of the Lord Jesus Christ  was a secret at that time,

if Rome was aware of it,   Rome would of considered it a revolt in the making.

Also, reason being it was an "Advance  Stage of Christianity" of heading towards being a "Perfect Man," and through that stage, entering the Kingdom of GOD on Earth.

Not every man was called to be a Soldier of Jesus Christ.  Those that were called had to receive  training to be Soldiers.  in verse Philemon 1:2,  Archippus ran a Training Camp for Men to become Soldiers of Jesus Christ. That is what the Church in his House was.

Comment: The Church in Archippus house was a "Boot Camp"

Archippus: G751 means:" MASTER of the HORSE" Archippus's name meaning says it all about his inherited ability to train by leading by Example. If he didn't inherit the name, he earned it.

So why in the era of the Apostle Paul, the Churches that he started up had soldiers?

For security purposes. To protect the Churches, the Saints, the elderly Saints, children.

Human trafficking for enslavement has always existed. Christians were now considered Criminals by those that hated Christians, the Pharisees, and then the Roman Empire.

Jesus told his disciples to arm themselves, because he was going to be taken away from them. Jesus's presence among them was their Spiritual Power of Protection.
