The Lord's Man of WAR
Audie Murphy wasn't a Christian
There's no question abut it: Audie Murphy was one of the ultimate "Righteous Men" of War when called to be so, of his time.
Philippians 2:25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
Note: fellowsoldier might be used as a
"figure of speech" word to describe a fellow companion in the same activity, work, etc.
But Paul describes Epaphroditus "companion in labour" in the same sentence as calling him fellowsoldier.
Philemon 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer,
Philemon 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
Note: Philemon is referred to as "our dearly beloved" and "fellow labourer"
Apphia is referred to as "beloved" only
and Archippus is called fellowsoldier
Colossians 4:1 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
Note: what kind of ministry is this, that Paul had to tell Archippus "Take Heed To" and that thou fulfill it?
definition: Take Heed To: concentrate on
and it surly wasn't easy to do: "That thou fulfill it."

Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Tim 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Tim 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Tim 2:5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Note: example is Archippus, the Master Horseman.
7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Note: No coincidence, that Paul put verse 8 FEAR Not Death, you will raise from dying in battle to a greater Glory, in your next life. And again at the end of this chapter.
2 Tim 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:

Archippus means "Master of Horses" strong's xxxx
The Horses being the Lambs of GOD. His ministry was training the men to be strong to endure, and to endure hardship for troublesome times to come. He might of been an ex legionnaire centurion who became a Christian.
During Jesus time the Roman Army had soldiers called "auxillaries" that were not Roman Citizens.
The LORD Jesus CHRIST said "FEED My LAMBS"
